Davenport coach Bob Clarkston has announced the school’s 14 member 2008 recruiting class as the Grand Rapids-based college begins its second year of men’s lacrosse:

Gregory (Dylan) Gilbert: Gilbert comes to Davenport from the box leagues of Ontario Canada (Oakville Buzz) where he was one of his team's leaders in goals and assists. Gilbert is a big strong kid who can penetrate defenses and brings a great shot from inside. Coach Clarkson expects him to make an immediate impact for the Panthers.

Corbin Ralston: A product of East Grand Rapids, Ralston was a starting attackman for the Division 2 state champion and three year letter winner. Ralston is a goal scorer and is strong from both the left and right hands. He has very good feet, a good stick and will be a scoring threat.

Taylor Keyworth: Keyworth is a big coachable player from state finalist Forest Hills Central. While he was a starting attackman for FHC he is expected to play midfield for the Panthers. Taylor also was a standout hockey player earning conference honors for both hockey and lacrosse.

Chris Payne: Payne also comes out of Forest Hills Central where he teamed with Keyworth as a starting attackman. A shifty attacker who is strong from both hands, Payne was a second team all state for FHC. Clarkson believes that Payne will be a significant contributor to the Panther offense in the coming years.

Chris Kendro: Kendro comes out of Spring Lake where he was a standout hockey player, an all state qualifier in track and his speed and athleticism will fit in well. Kendro also was awarded a Lettinga Charter Scholarship for exceptional academic achievement in high school.

Jordan Costa: Costa is another Canadian product hailing from Mississauga, Ontario. A big strong player who will see time at midfield, Costa played both box and field lacrosse as well as being a impressive hockey player.

Mike Kaye: Kaye comes out of Hartland, where he started at attack, was a three year letter winner, a two year captain and two year all county award winner. In addition, Kaye led his team in assists. Coach Clarkson is excited to bring his leadership to the Panther squad.

Aaron James: James earned all conference and all state honors out of Rockford High School, where he was a three-year letter winner and a two year starter for the Rams. He is coming to Davenport from Grand Rapids Community College. While he has not played competitive lacrosse for two years, Clarkson believes he will come back strong and be a team leader.

Jordan Richtsmeier: Richtsmiere is a transfer from Tri State University and a product of Forest Hills Central. While at FHC he earned All Conference and First Team All State honors. He also served as a captain for the Rangers. Coach Clarkson is expecting Jordan to contribute significantly to the Panther offense.

Zach Higgins: Higgens hails from Courtice, Ontario where he played hockey, box lacrosse and field lacrosse as a goalie. Higgens has size and can clear the ball well. An all-Ontario Lacrosse Association All Star, Higgens is expected to split time in net with Jake Stricker for the upcoming season.

Jordy Sayers: Sayers, a midfielder, is transferring from Saginaw Valley State after playing at Davidson High School, where he led the team in goals, assists and points. While at Davidson, Sayers was a three time letter winner for the Cardinals.

Steve Chiappelli: Chiappelli, also from Hartland, was All Conference, All County, and also served as his team's captain in high school. Chiappelli was a prolific scorer for the Eagles and Clarkson thinks that Steve will bring that scoring prowess to the Panther offense.

Kyle Anguilm: Anguilm is from Ypsilanti Lincoln where he was a three-year letter winner and two-year captain. Anguilm also played varsity soccer and varsity golf. He is also the 2nd all time leading scorer for his high school with 197 career points.

Jordan Steger: Steger joins Davenport as the team’s only true hometown player from Caledonia. A three year starter for the Fighting Scotts, Steger was also a standout hockey player and will play midfield for the Panthers.
